Still looking for that perfect, inexpensive gift for mom? The Brandon University Women’s Collective, in partnership with Forbidden Flavours (University location) will be holding their first Wine and Paint Night on Wednesday, November 29th at 7:00PM. Who doesn’t like drinking wine (or some sort of alcohol) and pretending to be an artist? The best part is that even if you suck at art, you still come out with something your mom would be proud to hang on her wall. The tickets are being sold for only $10 with all extra cost absorbed by the Women’s Collective. This is the Collective’s second event this year with more planned for next semester. The Collective also hosted Take Back the Night in September.
The Women’s Collective is located on the second floor of the Knowles Douglas Building, right above BUSU and beside The Quill. The office hours for the remainder of this term are Monday and Wednesday’s from 11-12, with new hours coming in the second term. The Women’s Collective offers free pregnancy tests, safer sex supplies, and tampons and pads. They also sell Diva Cups for $30.
The Women’s Collective looks to support and empower women. Plus, who doesn’t like not having to pay for condoms? Or tampons? That shit is expensive, so come get them for free!
Some other events the Collective is discussing putting on next term include a social, erotic bingo, and another paint night if the first one is well attended so keep an eye out for announcements for second term!
