After a spectacular season in soccer in 2016, the Bobcats were able to show their pride and skill through the Futsal season as well.
The Bobcats played a total of 11 games through the Futsal season, ending their run in the semi-finals. Throughout the season the women were able to take home four wins, two ties, and five losses. Their best game of the season was their first game, held on January 15th against the Assiniboine Community College Cougars. This game showed a final score of 10-4, with the Bobcats taking home the win with a six point lead. The weakest game played by the women this season was against the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on January 28th. This game had a final score of 2-8, with the Blazers taking home the win with a six point lead.
The men also played a good season, ending their run in the semi-finals. Throughout the season the men brought home six wins, two ties, and three losses. Three of these wins were gained with a final score showing the Bobcats taking a four point lead. Those games were on January 15th against the Assiniboine Community College Cougars, February 18th against the Providence University Pilots, and February 28th against the ACC Cougars. The weakest game played by the men this season resulted in a loss to the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers, who took the win with a three point lead.
A congratulations goes out to the men and women’s futsal teams. You’ve had some great seasons this year, and you’ve represented Brandon University wonderfully, giving us a great name. The Quill wishes you all the best in your future seasons.
