Well, students, it’s back to the grind of that academic life. Luckily, our Friendly Neighbourhood BUSU Council has a week of fun planned for us!
Today, Wednesday September 6th, the BUSU council will be in the Mingling Area of the Knowles-Douglas Centre (KDC) to introduce themselves to students from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. There will also be an escape room event hosted in the Kavanagh Courtyard and FREE pizza in the Mingling area at 12:30PM. The evening will provide karaoke from 7:00PM to 10:00PM in Harvest Hall.
Thursday, September 7th is Stress Free Day. There will be booths set up in the Mingling Area from 9:00AM to 4:00PM to help reduce stress students may be feeling after trying to find their classrooms and paying for all their textbooks. David’s Tea will also be provided between 10:00AM and 12:00PM.
Friday September 8th is Free Food Day, starting off with a free pancake breakfast from 8:00AM to 9:30PM in the Mingling Area. The afternoon brings free ice cream from 11:30AM to 1:30PM, also in the Mingling Area. All day, Destination BU will be occurring throughout campus. Just find one of the friendly Student Guides in the yellow shirts for assistance if you get a little lost!
Saturday, September 9th brings us a trip to Clear Lake, which is sponsored by the Office of International Activities. Students were asked on the BUSU Facebook page to indicate their interest in attending, and register accordingly. Students who wish to attend are asked to meet in front of Clark Hall at 9:00AM for a day of fun in the sun. A free BBQ lunch will be provided.
Next week Monday, September 11th will see local businesses tabling in the Mingling Area from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. In the market for a part time job to help supplement your university experience? Maybe you can find the right fit with one of the local businesses in attendance! Free David’s Tea will again be provided in the Mingling Area from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.
Tuesday, September 12th there will be student groups tabling in the Mingling Area from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Come on out to meet some cool people and perhaps find a place to discuss things you’re passionate about! If you are a returning student, it’s never too late to get involved with a club or collective! Come on out and meet some new friends! Later that evening, a free bowling excursion to Thunderbird Bowl has been arranged. Interested parties are asked to meet outside the KDC.
We hope everyone enjoys Explorientation week one!
