It’s that time of year again for Brandon’s Sun of a Beach festivities!

The weekend begins early with a kickoff social at Houston’s Country Roadhouse on Thursday, March 7th. Forget all about the mountains of snow outside and don your summer clothes and beach wear! Everyone who goes before 11:00 pm will receive free cover for a future trip to Houston’s.

The two-day co-ed beach volleyball tournament begins on Friday, March 8th at 2:00 pm at the Keystone Centre, which will be flooded with sand to form Brandon’s largest indoor beach volleyball court. Cash prizes available to be won this year total over $1,500.

96 teams of more than 600 volleyball players participated in the competition last year, which will again be hosted by Assiniboine Community College Students’ Association.

Following the end of the tournament on Saturday, March 9th, the 2013 Sun of a Beach Social will begin, featuring Rockbox from Morris Entertainment. Tickets for the social can be obtained by calling the Keystone Box Office at (204) 726-3500 or visiting the Keystone Centre’s website.

So shake off your winter blues and enjoy some “sand, sun, and fun” in March!
