Movie Review- Escape Room

The movie Escape Room, directed by Adam Robitel came out in 2019, was recently added to Netflix! If you are looking for a good psychological thriller, this movie might just be for you!

The movie starts in a nerve-wracking situation to get you on the edge of your seat. Leaving you on a cliff-hanger from the beginning scene they introduce the main characters. Starting with Zoe, who is a very smart university student, however, struggles with some anxiety. Next, they introduce Jason, who presents himself as a hotshot businessman. To complete the trio, they introduce Ben who is the stereotypical social outcast. The three of them get invited to an escape room. While they are in the waiting room, we meet three other characters. The tough and mysterious Amanda, happy and welcoming Mike, and finally Danny, the nerd.

The six individuals work together to complete several puzzles in several rooms to hopefully win the promised $10,000 cash prize if they finish the escape room. What started as a friendly fun game became a twisted and sadistic competition. The movie is a bit predictable and the characters all follow their stereotypical roles, but the movie is still exciting and full of plot twists. It is definitely worth the watch!
