As you approach the end of the fall term you may find yourself looking for something to do in your downtime. With their low admission ($5 per show) and concession prices ($2 per item), The Evans Theatre is the place to go for an inexpensive movie night and is conveniently located on campus. The following are their upcoming films.
Patti Cake$ is about Patricia Dombrowski, an aspiring rapper in search of fame, and her quest through strip malls and strip clubs alike. Patti Cake$ can be viewed at The Evans on November 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7:30PM.
Loving Vincent is The Evans’ next film. This film may appeal especially to those people interested in the fine arts, as all of the film’s 65,000 frames are oil-paintings hand painted by 125 painters. According to The Evans’ website “the film brings the paintings of Vincent van Gogh to life to tell his remarkable story.” Loving Vincent will be available for viewing on November 24th, 25th, and 26th at 7:30PM.
Breathe graces the theatre’s screen next depicting the story of Robin, a man whose life changes drastically after polio leaves him paralyzed. Breathe is notably based on a true story. The film may be viewed on December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at 7:30PM.
The last film playing in The Evans for this term is Battle of the Sexes. The film is based on a true story about the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King, World Number One, and Bobby Riggs, ex-champ and serial hustler. The film will come to the screen on December 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7:30PM.
